BCEMS Library, November 8th 6:00-7:30.

The Barre City Parent/Child Book Group is off and running for its second year.  This group is geared toward 3rd to 6th grade readers and their parents. We began with a Harry Potter night in October.  November's book is A Crooked Kind of Perfect by local author, Linda Urban.  Very exciting news is that the author will be joining us for the next meeting to talk about the book and about the process of having books published.

All are welcome. The only requirement is that children be accompanied by a parent or other adult.  Bring snacks to share!  And if you need copies of the book, contact Karen Heath at kheatbce@u61.net.  Other questions can be answered by parent organizer Leslie Hammond: lesliechris1976@yahoo.com.

Hope to see you there!

Civil War and Reconstruction Reading Group

This book discussion group will be
held in our district and facilitated by Christine Smith from SHS.
This monthly book discussion series combines young adult historical
fiction, memoirs, and other reading.  Content focus is Civil War and
Reconstruction. It is perfect if you teach this content, but
interesting for all and open at this point to two interested teachers.
I have participated in these book discussion groups for the four years
Flow of History has been in our district, and they are excellent,
intellectually stimulating, and a great chance to connect with
teachers across all three of our schools. I am looking forward to this
one as well.  Karen
