U61 Library Mission Statement 1. Promote literacy and the enjoyment of reading, viewing and listening for students of all ages and stages of development. 2. Ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. 3. Foster the use of library/media center resources for lifelong learning. 4. Promote understanding of the library/media center organization. This Mission is Accomplished by: 1. Providing instruction through scope and sequence to foster competence and stimulate in viewing, reading, listening, and using information and ideas. 2. Collaborating with educators to ensure that the library/media resources are utilized to design learning strategies which meets the needs of the students. 3. Providing intellectual and physical access to a wide variety of materials in all formats.
