Dear Barre UUSD Families,
Today was day one of our Child Care for Essential Persons. We had one child in attendance, and expect several more next week. Our program is located at Barre City Elementary & Middle School, 50 Parkside Terrace, Barre, VT, 06541. Operating hours will be 7:30 AM to 4 PM. You can register at: https://forms.gle/dew2iJb1AcjeXas17 Please email Lauren May ( firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have questions.
We have been delivering approximately 400-500 meals each day, which is fantastic. We plan to send out a Robo-Call Monday morning with an updated list of stops, as we know not all families get email messages. Please spread the word on this and all other supports we are able to provide.
A lot of amazing preparation, communication and execution occurred this week related to remote learning. We again emphasize that remote learning means much more than online learning. Please remember that while learning is important, taking care of ourselves in the midst of this crisis is the highest priority. We are here to support you in any way we can.
Tony Campos of Central Vermont Television offered his studio to any student that can use it for their education, including for wifi access. Please pass this along to anyone and everyone. Thanks to Tony!! CVTV is at 386 N Main St, Barre, VT 05641, CVTV723@gmail.com, (802) 479-1075.
We know that not everyone has access to email. Please pass the word that the latest updates, including these messages, are posted on our webpage at https://www.buusd.org/covid-19 for those that have web access but not email. The attached graphic was shared by one of our teachers, and I pass it along with the hope that it may be helpful. I expect statistics on the worsening impact of COVID-19 will come out over the weekend, but ask you to join me in the steadfast belief that things will get better.
Please have a safe and restful weekend,
