COVID-19 Information

This page will be updated as more information becomes available.

March 23 - Update

Dear Barre UUSD Families, Staff, and Community,

We continue in our school district’s response to the COVID-19 crisis.  Below are highlights, but you can always find more comprehensive information at

1) Child Care for Essential Persons will continue this week at Barre City School.  We had seven children in attendance today.
2) Student Meal Delivery continues with another 400-500 meals delivered today.
3) We are in touch with the Central Vermont Medical Center and outlying facilities to assist them in any way we can in their crisis response.
4) With the exception of the Child Care at Barre City School, our buildings are moving more toward a complete shutdown mode, as we reduce staff in buildings to the minimum required to fulfill the essential tasks.  We have plans to have the phone lines attended, essential custodial and maintenance tasks continue, and administrators present where and when possible.  Email is the best way to reach staff.
5) Teaching staff and support staff are working diligently to plan for delivery of remote education and essential services should the school closure extend beyond April 6, and to provide whatever is possible in the intervening period.

We are grateful to everyone who is pitching in during this challenging time.

Unless there is something new and relevant to report, I will transition Monday, Wednesday, Friday updates.  With that said, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns to me or any other staff member.

You are all in my thoughts and the thoughts of everyone here in the Barre Schools.
