A Day in the Life
My In-School Day (M/T or TH/F)
- My parent checks me for signs of COVID-19. If I don't have symptoms or a fever, I get ready for school.
- I wear my mask.
- My parent or guardian stays with me until I get on the bus.
- I stay socially distanced from other families at the bus stop.
- I get my temperature checked before getting on the bus.
- We load the bus back to front.
- The bus windows are open depending on weather.
- I sit next to my brother and sister.
I rode the bus
- I exit the bus and enter the school through my designated entrance, staying six feet apart from other students.
- I clean my hands with hand sanitizer.
- I walk to my classroom, pick-up my breakfast (if needed) and get a warm welcome from my teacher.
- I put my coat and backpack in my bin or cubby.
- I make sure my mask is on correctly.
My parent or guardian brought me to school
- We arrive at school no earlier than 8:15 AM in my parent or guardian's vehicle.
- We follow the signage directing traffic through the school's big parking lot.
- I get my temperature checked while my parent or guardian waits in the car to make sure I have entered the school.
- Once I enter the school my parent or guardian drives away.

- I walk to my classroom, pick-up my breakfast (if needed) and get a warm welcome from my teacher.
- I put my coat and backpack in my bin or cubby.

- The school custodians clean my classroom before we get there so we can learn in a clean environment.
- I sit at my desk that is spaced six feet from my classmates while wearing my mask.
- We stay in our classroom for most of the day to avoid coming into contact with other classes of students.
- We do get breaks where we can go outside or go to our allied arts and specials classes.
- Lunch gets delivered to my classroom.
- We get three choices for lunch every day. Hot Lunch, Sandwich, and an alternative option.

Elementary
- I attend my Allied Arts classes (Music, Health, Library, & Art) in the assigned Allied Arts classroom.
- I get 30 minutes of PE time every day! We try to have PE outside whenever possible.
Middle

I ride the bus home
- We start moving to the school buses at 1:55 PM

My parent or guardian picks me up
- Once the school buses have left, my parent or guardian drives through the bus loop to come pick me up
- My parent or guardian has a sign in their car window with my name on it
- Once a school worker sees the sign, they let me know that I can go outside to get a ride home
- My teacher records lessons for me to view on the days where I am learning remotely
- When we learn remotely, we learn in a lot of different ways. We learn online using our Chromebook, using paper & pencil, and even by exploring!
- My teacher stays in contact with me and my family to help support me and my learning
- On Wednesdays, my teacher has a virtual morning meeting so the kids in my group and the other group can attend together!
- My teacher is available online and can help answer my questions when I am learning remotely
- Lunch is free for everyone at my school!
- The school delivers breakfast and lunch to locations around Barre City so we can stay full while learning at home!
- My school encourages me to play outside at least 30 minutes every day while learning from home!
- My school gave me a kit of supplies on the first day of school!
- The kit has a personal "mat" in it that can be cleaned at the end of the day.
- We use the mats when we are out of our seats or we go outside to learn.
- I can bring my own mask to school, but if I don't have a mask, the school will give me one.
- I wear my mask throughout the school day.
- I know I can't wear bandanas, but neck gaiters, cloth & paper masks are okay.
