Everybody Wins! Vermont: Reading Mentor Program
Everybody Wins! reading mentors meet with their student one hour a week to share friendship and books during lunch. Our goal is to build relationships between students and a caring, reliable adult to have fun and to have positive experiences with reading and language. Studies show that extra 1-on-1 time spent reading aloud to a child dramatically improves the likelihood they will become successful readers. Our program has been shown to increase self-confidence, as well as reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. All of these are helping our students perform better in school.
Everybody Wins! reading days are on Wednesdays -or- Fridays and meet in the school library.
